STAGES OF RIVER

There are 3 stages of the river, broadly categorized into three:
1. Upper Course or the youthful stage
In this stage the river usually flows through steeps and slopes with lots of energy due to lots of gradient.
the features formed in this stage are formed by the erosional work.
The land features formed in these stages are Gorge, V-shaped valley, Interlocking Spurs and the waterfalls.

 2. Middle or mature stage
In this stage the river flows through gentle slope.
The features formed in the stages are formed due to the transportation work.
The land features formed in these stages are: Alluvial fans, Broad valleys and meanders.

 3.Lower or old stage
In this stage speed of the river decrease mainly due to the low gradient.
The main work in these stages is deposition.
Some landforms formed in these stages are: Manders, Oxbow lakes, floodplains and natural levees.

ATMOSPHERE

An atmosphere is made of the layers of gases surrounding a planet or other celestial body. Earth's atmosphere is composed of about 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and one percent other gases.

 Types of Settlements

Types of Drainage pattern
There are three types of the drainage pattern:
                    1 Dendritic pattern
                    2 Trellis pattern
                    3 Radial pattern

   1 Dendritic pattern
A dendritic pattern is the most common form and looks like the branching pattern of tree roots ant the tree trunks

2 Trellis pattern
When the primary tributaries of rivers flow parallel to each other and secondary tributaries, the pattern is called as the trellis pattern

3 Radial pattern
When the rivers originate from a hill and flow in all directions, the patterns is called as the radial.
