History

 I like to share something lessons about the history as my favourite subject. Since it was the past of human kind. And by informing about the past, history will justify the present and guide the future.


History is the story of who we are, where we came from and where we are moving.
So this pages contains the story of Bhutan and the lesson that I have learned during this year.

                Origin of Doma Chewing in Bhutan


During the olden days, Guru Rinpoche arrived in Bumthang, he found that demons, spirits and local people eating Human flesh, bones and brains, and  wearing the skin.

Guru Rinpoche subdued the demons and spirits under that skin. And he made people promise to never harm each other To stopped them to consuming humans flesh and blood. 

Guru Rinpoche introduced the tradition of chewing Doma. Betel leaf symbolize Human flesh, Betel nut as bone, Lime the brain and resulting the red juice symbolize 
the blood of human.

Our lord buddha had invented the four noble truths and the eightfold path.

Four noble Truths
1. Path of end of sufferings
2. End of suffering.
3. Cause of suffering
4. Truth of suffering

Eightfold Path
1. Right mindfulness
2. Right livelihood
3. Right effort
4. Right Intention
5. Right speech
6. Right action
7. Right view
8. Right Concentration

 The raw material or first-hand information, source material that is closest to what is being studied is called as the primary sources.

FACT ABOUT NABJI LHAKHANG
Nabji lhakhang names come from the abode which means "taking an oath".
Long ago in this locstion King Sindha Na King Nawchoe took an oath of non voilence against each other in the presence of great Guru Padma sambhawa.
Guru Rinpoche had a good relationship with both kings, so he could summon them to the boarder of India and Bhutan, where the present temple is located. A monolith was erected there with the handprints of both the king and guru. The stone pillar is known as nado(Stone of Oath)
